A Look Back at September

Wow ! What a great month. After being away from training for most of July and August, it was great to be back at it again.

Training.

Septembers training kicked off on the 4th with Mark on his 1200 GS Rallye and the Marks just kept coming ! On the 7th it was Mark on his R1200RT followed by another Mark on his R1200RT on the 11th!

A Trio of Marks.

Fortunately the trio of Marks were joined by Olivia on her Suzuki Gladious on the 10th and 26th, Richard on his 1200GS Adventure on the 12th, Steve on his Yamaha 600 Fazer on the 18th and Craig on his GS on 28th.

BikeSafe.

On the 8th I assisted Humberside Police to deliver the 'on road' assessments at their BikeSafe event. The event ran from Beverley and was fully booked some time in advance. 10 students attended who were assessed by 4 police riders and representatives from both RoSPA and the IAM.

I was paired with Kaz who had travelled from Skegness as Lincs police do not run BikeSafe events.

Kaz rode very well and has already joined her local IAM group to further her riding skills.

RoSPA Examiner.

September also saw me wear my Examiners hat (helmet?) as I conducted 3 advanced bike tests on behalf of RoSPA. Three very good candidates with two obtaining Golds grade passes and the third a Silver.

Good news!

On the 22nd I heard that a previous customer of mine had recently taken and passed her IAM test obtaining a F1RST in the process. Julie had had a 4 hour assessment back in March on her Z900 as she readied herself to take her test this year. I'm obviously not claiming direct credit for her test pass but great to see someone achieve their goal.

FaceBook.

My Ian Speight Advanced Rider Training FaceBook page continues to flourish, I'm amazed how many people I can 'reach'. I regularly share my posts around local FB groups and usually get between 2500 and 4000 views. One post alone has had over 9000 views ! I'm also nearing the 400 mark when it comes to 'likes', which is more than some local training groups and companies have, so I'm well chuffed. Thank you !

And finally.

On 30th September I was very pleased to lead a customer ride out on behalf of Barrie Robson BMW Motorcycles of York. Over 20 customers turned out, along with all the team from Barrie Robson BMW.

The weather was very kind as we meandered our way around the finest roads in East Yorkshire before a lunch stop on the coast followed by another meandering route back to York. 185 miles in total and a really great day out.

And that just about sums up September. Thanks to everyone who has sent an enquiry, are waiting to start their training or have trained with me and to everyone else who continues to support me.

Thanks for reading.
