I arose from my slumbers to a very windy Saturday morning, but at least it was fine and dry.
I got my bike kit on and headed out to my RoSPA group, who train every Saturday morning.
Once training was arranged I saw the guys off on their training rides and then myself and 2 other tutors went for a 40ish mile social run.
We left Strawberry Fields cafe and took a meandering route over the wolds before finishing at Seaways.
It was quite a steady ride as I'm still running my GSA in and Steve was bedding in new tyres. Richard joined us on his 3 year old 52000 mile GS.
After a brew I said my goodbyes to Steve and Richard and headed off to Miles Kingsport Honda in Hull. They're a great bunch at Miles's, I've had numerous bikes off them over the years, so often pop in for a catch up but the main reason for today's visits was because they have just been made a Honda Gold Wing 'Centre'.
On arrival I saw the Gold Wings holding 'centre stage' in the showroom. Three models on display, a standard model in grey and 2 DCT versions, one in blue and another in a gorgeous red and black combination.
Honda have really trimmed down the size of the Gold Wing whilst at the same time maintaining the 1800cc engine and bringing the rest of the bike up to full modern spec.
Lee is Miles's appointed Gold Wing ambassador and talked me through the different models.
It was a really enjoyable visit and good to see Tim, Rachel and Andy, who very kindly invited me to return another day to try their demonstrator. I'm already looking forward to that.
All in all a cracking day and despite the strong winds I still managed about 120 miles.
